Yellowstone Day 1

Knowing we had work waiting on us, but the urge to go see the mighty Yellowstone, we chose to get up early to do our touring, then head back and work afternoons and evenings.

That always sounds like a great idea until my alarm goes of at O'myGoditsEarly'clock, but the truth is, the scenery is more beautiful, the crowds less plentiful and the animals are more active in the mornings, maybe I should say the wildlife are more active ..... these party animals generally stay up too late and early mornings are ...... ;)

Well anyway, today we saw geysers and mud pots. They're very interesting how they exist and continue to change.

imagine how great this photos would be without that tree .....  I mean really!

I wanted to see what that white stuff was in the water

foam, yep, that's what it was

Of course we had to stop and see Old Faithful

We saw this elk herd every morning. They were so majestic, just doing their thing.

I know a lot of my shots look really close, but rest assured, the zoom on my camera is great! I am NOT one of those people who do not heed safety warnings about wild animals. These animals are wild, they're no one's pets. Respect their space and keep your distance, anyone can get great shots with a zoom and not invade their space.

As you can see, some people still do not adhere to the safety warnings to stay 25 yards away from buffalo .....

This is a mud pot, and this next pic is a close-up view
