Yellowstone Day 3

Day 3 at Yellowstone turned out to be quite a day for wildlife and sights!

We headed out at first light to another beautiful sunrise

First thing we saw as we were pulling into the park was this beautiful eagle fishing for his breakfast!

today we chose to go to the north side of Yellowstone. There wasn't a quick way to the north side, so we had to do a bit of driving to get there. We enjoyed our GyPSy tour guide telling us about the area we were going through and what was up ahead.

There are A LOT of mountains and curves going to the north side. There aren't a whole bunch of pull-offs heading to the north side. There is an easier road to get there, but it was closed due to construction, but if it weren't for that re-route, we would have missed this:

Yep, he was just jogging up the road like he does this all the time .... Maybe he was on his way to or from work.  We'll never know :)

Along the drive, this was our first pull-off.

After we went to see the boiling geysers, we came down from the mountain and saw this amazing herd, just hanging out in the town square at lunchtime.

There were several park rangers were standing around because literally, this was the town square. There were several females within arms reach of people.

This is the oldest petrified tree

As we were driving back down the mountain, we came around a corner to this guy having lunch

He was happy to stand there but he refused to pose :)

from the height of these mountains, you can see for miles

So, once again, we came around the corner just in time to see this.  We knew it had to be an animal but which one.

That's when we saw it run up the embankment. We didn't get much of a sight of it, but here's what we got of a BEAR!!

Thanks to the park rangers, the bear and his crowd visit was short and sweet!

The crisp, clear view just goes for miles

This was my first time to Yellowstone, but I have a feeling it won't be my last! It's just beautiful here! It's truly amazing to see God's handiwork, His paintbrush and some of His wildlife in their natural habitat. Thankfully, even though we adhered to wildlife safety rules, not all guests do.

We saw a lot, we drove a lot; we were just amazed at the beauty of Yellowstone.
